Michael V. Velotta

President

Lore Internet Systems

Mr. Velotta has more than 15 years experience in network data center and computer server operations.  In 1988, Mr. Velotta helped build and manage the Network Operations Center at the Department of Justice in Washington, DC.  Following his 2-year tenure with the government, which also included various Defense Department projects, Mr. Velotta took a position as the lead project manager for client-server systems at Mobil Oil Corporation.  At Mobil Oil, Mr. Velotta led several mainframe projects into the highly technical arena of Unix and Microsoft Windows client-server applications.

In 1995, Mr. Velotta began working for Microsoft Corporation on the new web project initiatives.  He launched many new pilot web projects, including the popular Student Co-Op program.  This web project, a grass-roots program, allowed computer engineers and science students to request evaluation software and technical support from the Microsoft Development center in Redmond, WA.  Today, much of the work that Mr. Velotta was involved in is part of the Microsoft Developer Network, which is used globally by application development teams.

In late 1996, Mr. Velotta, founded Lore Internet Systems.  Initially, the company provided high-speed Internet services, such as DS-1’s and web and electronic mail hosting to many pioneer dot-com companies.  Mr. Velotta was instrumental in building the first Lore Internet Systems network operation center in Washington, DC.  Today, Lore Internet Systems hosts thousands of businesses with its highly reliable, fully redundant meshed network and certified network and support engineers.  In addition, Mr. Velotta is an active member of the Internet community, including the ARIN and Internet Registrars.
